Just startin' your tips

I used to do 300 full sit-ups a day.
I would get just a little burn in my workout, but no improvement. So i bumped it up to 500, then 600, but still none.
Now, I am trying your tips, and I'm felling confident I can achieve my goal of getting the abs I want.
My favorite is the plank, but I have to do it for 3-4 minutes, since I've had martial art training and I have a blackbelt.
You talked a lot about flexibility, do you have any good exercises, or what I should be training at specifically.
