Weight Loss Tips &
Weight Loss Information

Here are some weight loss tips to help you lose stomach fat and decrease your body fat percentage.

If you want to get a flat stomach, you will likely have to lose some weight.

If you want a ripped 6 pack, you will have to lose weight.

I know some people say they are happy with the scale, but in order to lose fat, appear more toned, and get more ripped you'll have to lose weight.

In working as a personal trainer for the past 8 years, I have found that body fat percentage does not often decrease unless someone loses weight.

Quality Versus Quantity:
Every calorie is not created equally

Here's an article that I wrote about one of the biggest diet myths that stops people from losing weight and stomach fat.

One of the Biggest Diet Myths

Super Size Me Video of McDonald's French Fries

If you want to lose weight, I think it's obvious that you have to limit your intake of fast foods. But in addition to containing tons of calories that contribute to weight gain, fast foods tend to have additional chemicals and preservatives that are unhealthy and slow down your metabolism.

Weight Loss Tip: You Cannot Spot Reduce Fat!

If you've read my page on the spot reduction myth, then you understand that exercising a spot does not magically melt fat off that spot.

It's important to do ab exercises for many other reasons, so I encourage everyone to strengthen their abs muscles and focus on core stability and core strength.

But, if you want to improve the appearance of your mid-section, you must lose the fat that is covering up your abdominal muscles.

You Cannot Target Where You Want to Lose Weight!

I know this may be hard to believe, but the truth is that you cannot target where you want your body to lose weight.

Everyone holds extra fat in certain places based on genetics and hormones. The place where you hold the most fat will always be the place you hold the most fat.

When you lose weight, you will lose it in a pattern all over your entire body and the last place you'll notice a significant change is the place where you hold most of your excess fat.

For most guys it's the abdomen and chest, and for most women it's the abdomen, the hips, and the thighs.

Bath Tub Analogy

Here's an analogy to help you understand this weight loss tip. On the spot reduction page, it talks about the bathtub analogy.

The bath tub analogy says to think of your body as a bath tub. When you fill it with water (fat), there will be more water near the drain because the tub is slanted (you have certain genetics).

If you looked at the tub and said, "I don't like all that extra water near the drain"... people might think that's silly.

And let's say that you wanted to do something about all that extra water by the drain (abdomen). You could get a bucket and try to scoop out water from near the drain, but then what would happen...

Of course, the overall level of water in the tub will decrease (decrease in weight and body fat percentage), but you will still have more water near the drain (abdomen).

I hope this helps you to understand the body.

My advice is to stop searching for some magic trick to help you lose stomach fat in isolation by itself. Instead, focus on your overall health, your body fat percentage, and your weight.

If you want a nice stomach and sexy abs, you need to lose weight and get in better shape.

Below are some additional Weight Loss Tips to help you change the way your body looks.

Weight Loss Tips: Add Weight Training to Your Routine.

Weight Training can speed up your metabolism and help your burn off belly fat.

As we age, both men and women lose lean muscle, and when we lose lean muscle our metabolisms slow down.

A great way to boost your metabolism and burn more calories is to use weights a minimum of 2 days a week.
